Canyon Wall in Red Rock Canyon State Park (Oklahoma). There are at least 3 state parks with the same name but the one in Oklahoma is a beautiful little gem – and one of my favorite destinations. It’s right off of I-40 and only a few miles west of Oklahoma City.
Red Rock Canyon is small box canyon with vertical red sandstone walls surrounded by deep forest. Plenty of climbing opportunities, plenty of wildlife, lots of lush green in the summer and, of course, those red canyon walls that are a photographic adventure all by themselves. Every visit reveals another unexpected scene. And the place changes dramatically with the seasons. This little vignette is from a recent visit. I was just driving down the park road (there is only one) and saw this little plant standing quietly against the canyon wall.
